        Abbreviation শব্দের অর্থ হলো সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ বা ছোট রূপ । কোন Organization বা কোনো  ব্যক্তিত্বকে অনেক সময় ছোট আকারে প্রকাশ করা হয় । যেমন Prime Minister কে আমরা বলি PM , Chief Minister কে বলি CM এবং West Bengal কে বলি WB ইত্যাদি । এগুলিকে ইংরেজিতে বলা হয় Abbreviation .
